Terms of Service

Last updated: November 2025

Welcome to DocQuery. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our document-processing and AI query services, websites, and related products (collectively referred to as the “Service”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using DocQuery, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding contract. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization.

2. Description of the Service

DocQuery provides a platform that allows users to upload digital documents (including PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and text files) and interact with them using AI-powered natural language processing. The Service may also rely on external APIs, including optical character recognition (OCR) and large language models, to generate responses and summaries.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice.

3. Account and Usage

Certain features of the Service may require user identification or session-based storage. You agree to maintain the confidentiality of your session data and are responsible for all activities that occur under it.

You must not use the Service in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations, including data privacy and intellectual property laws.

4. Document Uploads and Data Privacy

When you upload files to DocQuery, you retain full ownership of your content. DocQuery does not claim intellectual property rights over your documents or generated responses. Uploaded files are processed securely in memory or through isolated sessions and are not shared with third parties.

You acknowledge, however, that the use of AI-based tools involves cloud-based processing and may rely on third-party providers such as OpenAI or OCR APIs. While we take reasonable steps to ensure privacy and security, you understand that complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

  • Do not upload illegal, harmful, or copyrighted content.
  • Do not use the Service for automated data scraping or reverse engineering.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the platform’s integrity, performance, or security.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that the content you process through the Service complies with all applicable laws.

6. Intellectual Property

The DocQuery platform, including its design, code, algorithms, interfaces, and brand assets, is the exclusive property of the DocQuery development team and its licensors. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of the Service’s components is strictly prohibited.

7. AI-Generated Content

The responses generated by our AI models are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, AI output may contain errors, biases, or hallucinated information. You should independently verify critical information before relying on it.

DocQuery is not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on AI-generated responses.

8. Payment and Subscriptions

Some parts of the Service may require a paid subscription. If applicable, pricing, billing cycles, and refund policies will be detailed during checkout. All payments are processed through secure third-party providers.

9. Termination of Access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, caused harm to the Service, or used it in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose. Upon termination, your session data may be deleted.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocQuery, its developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for access to the Service during the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocQuery, its developers, partners, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control or endorse those websites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Use them at your own risk.

13. Modifications

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect updates in our policies, technologies, or legal requirements. The revised Terms will take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of those changes.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of your country or region of residence, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction where the Service is operated.
